Susan’s Nightmare

This nightmare all started when he was 16. He was an accomplished football player, and an active student. I actually miss going to his games. It brings tears to my eyes after what I’m about to tell you. My son changed everyday and I was clueless. He started coming home later, staying in his room, and became an introvert. I suspected something was wrong but not thought it was girl troubles or teenager things.

One day I received a phone call from the police department telling me that my son was in the hospital with a near fatal case of alcohol poisoning. I was nearly consumed with guilt and rage. His father did not even go to or call the hospital to see if my son lived or died. I perused charges against my son’s father and the result was my son was charged with underage drinking.

Dave’s Story

 

The biggest one was my mom was addicted to Valium . She would run out of her pills all the time and go crazy. More than once a week she would beat us with coat hangers, extension cords , her fists, just anything in her reach. The worst part was when she would lock us in our bed rooms for days on end and give us buckets to use the bathroom in. Fortunately  my room was over my sisters room and we could talk through the heating vents.
